Hello hello! It feels SO good to be back on schedule, Iāve missed you all so much! As many of you may know, last week I was in Nashville, Tennessee setting up my newest Airbnb unit. I think of these newsletters kinda like my diary so today I just wanted to break down exactly what happened this past week! The good, bad, and the final product. Buckle upā¦ š¤
I flew in Sunday, and landed around 6PM. The plan was to land, head to pick up the Uhaul, be at the storage unit before 10PM (when they closed) that way I had a bed to sleep on š and then head straight to the Airbnb unit.
I scheduled the Uhaul for mobile pickup, I get to the Uhaul place around 7:30PM and my app says āMobile Pickup Unavailable.ā keep in mind I just got dropped off in a random parking lot like 30 minutes away from the city, with all my luggage just standing there like š§š»āāļø. I called and they said they forgot to put the keys in the lockbox so they were looking for another location I could go to. I ended up Ubering to a second location, it is now about 9PM but we were mobile now lol.
I got to the storage unit about 30 minutes before they closed & I just grabbed as much as I could and loaded it into the Uhaul & headed to the Airbnb.
The next morning I went back to the storage unit to get the remaining packages. I had ordered everything to the storage unit that way as soon as I arrived I wouldnāt be waiting on items to come & I could get the unit staged as fast as possible.
I hired two people 1. was building the bed frames, nightstands, dining table, and couch while the 2nd was mounting the three TVs (1 in each bedroom, plus 1 in the living room)
This guy was the reason I was able to stage this unit in 3 days. He built every single piece of furniture in just a couple hoursā¦ he asked no questions, and was the quickest to ever do it! Later I found out he used to work for Walmart & built all of their furniture š which explained his skills! These workers were paid out of pocket.
While they worked, I headed to get decorations. I ordered a few little things from Amazon but I always like to see the space in person to really see where I need to add decorations/how many I need to get. My go to spots are Ross first (itās the cheapest) then HomeGoods (you can always count on them to have cute stuff itās just more pricey)
By the time I got back from shopping they were both done and then I got to opening all of the Amazon boxes, and putting things in their place!
I stayed up till 1 AM that night. Every single box was open, and put into itās place. Since all of the furniture was built (this usually takes the longest) now there wasnāt much to do. I opened all the bedding and got the curtains/picture frames in place to be hung the next day.
The next morning it clickedā¦ āOMG where is the washer and dryerā there indeed was NO washer and dryer š panic set in and I went back and forth about if I wanted to purchase one or not but I knew I needed it. So I went to FB marketplace in hopes of finding a used one, but no luck. I ended up having to spend $850 on a brand new washer and dryerā¦ itāll be delivered tomorrow.
The next day I did all of my returns, I dread this part every time lol. But there is always things that I order that I end up not needing or donāt like so I want that shomeny back!
The photographer was coming at noon, and my cleaners did not have time to come before the photos soā¦ I had to deep clean and stage the unit for photography myself! I was on Youtube looking up āHow to make a bed hotel styleā āHow to fold towels like a professionalā š I was STRESSED to say the least. But I think I did a pretty good job!
I used a photographer that my friend recommended to me. She came out and photographed the entire unit, surroundings, and backyard. The photos were edited and sent over the next day!
After photography, thatās basically it! I spent the rest of the day getting rid of the remaining trash, and had my cleaners scheduled to come out after I left to the airport! That night, the AC ended up breaking. I contacted the landlord and he sent someone out the next day to fix it. Luckily it was a quick fix and was done that same day.
Iām working on finalizing the listing today, and itāll be live tomorrow! I will keep you guys posted on how it does, but I am super happy with the unit! I hope this brought you some insight on what happens during this process - I also vlogged the whole thing so this Thursday you can see it live!
